How to get Comps in Las Vegas
What is a comp? Well it is a term that has been around since their have been casinos in the desert. It is simply short for
compensation, and casinos will give you Comps if you gamble in their casinos long enough. They also want you to keep gambling in their
casinos. You are eligible to receive comps win or lose.
The easiest free comp in Las Vegas is the free drink; every casino has cocktail waitresses running around offering free drinks.
You will need to tip the waitress if you want a second drink. I usually tip at least a dollar sometimes more if the same waitress is
bringing me drinks on a regular basis.
Free Meals are great and plentiful in Las Vegas, if you play consistently for an hour or two you can usually get a couple of free
buffets at most casinos. Play a little longer and you can get a free meal at a sit down restaurant, where the food is always pretty good,
and better than some buffets.
Free and discounted rooms are a little harder to come by. You usually have to play above the posted table minimums for several
hours to get a free or discounted room, but always make sure when the pit boss is watching you are betting more than the minimum
bet.
Always remember to ask, if you never ask no one can say yes, and if you do ask the worst thing that can happen is someone will say
no, and then probably tell you what you need to do to get what you want.
Always, Always, Always join the players clubs in the casino you plan on gabling in for any length of time. The casino can’t give
you comps if they don’t know who you are, and how much you play at their casinos. I have gotten most of my free room offers after I go home
and the casinos are trying to get me to come back.
Remember it will be easier to get comps in Downtown, and off-strip casinos because the strip is full of mega resorts and the
Casinos not on the Strip have to compete harder for your gambling dollar. You may just be another gambler on the strip betting $25 a hand,
but downtown you will be noticed.
Finally remember always ASK!
